Two ways to start
Join our Preventive Dental Care Program for ongoing care, or come on a referral from your own dentist for a specific concern.
Every age, from the first tooth
First visits are due by the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth, whichever comes first. Older and never been? That’s fine too, and nobody here will make a thing of it.
Saturdays are a full clinic day
Not emergencies only. Check-ups, treatment and new patient visits all run, with the same dentists as midweek.
Tell us what we should know
A bad experience elsewhere, a sensory difficulty, or a child who is already frightened. It changes how we plan the visit, and there’s a box for it.
Where to come
Both clinics, same care, same dentists
Pick whichever is easier to reach. The only differences are the closing time and the surgical centre, which is at the South clinic. If you would rather choose a time yourself than wait for a call back, you can see what is open at either clinic.

Questions
About booking
How soon will someone get back to me?
Usually within one business day. If your child is in pain, has had an injury, or has facial swelling, don’t wait for a reply. Call instead, because we keep time free every day for exactly that.
Which location should I choose?
Whichever is easier to get to. All five pediatric specialists work at both clinics and the full range of care is available at each, so the choice makes no difference to the treatment your child gets. The one practical difference is that the surgical centre is at the South clinic.
Do I need a referral?
Not necessarily, and it depends what you are coming for. If you are establishing your child as a new patient and joining our comprehensive prevention program, no referral is needed and you can book directly with us. If your child already has a general or family dentist and you are seeking a specialist consultation for a specific concern, we ask that your dentist provide a referral, so we understand the history and the reason for the visit. Either way, your family dentist receives a consultation letter from us afterwards.
My child is terrified. Can I talk to someone before booking?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Call and tell us what happened. We can plan the first visit around it, whether that means a quieter time of day or an appointment where nothing clinical happens at all. Children who have been through something difficult somewhere else are a large part of who we see.
What should I bring to the first visit?
Your child’s Alberta Health card, your dental insurance details if you have coverage, and a list of any medications or medical conditions. If your child has been seen elsewhere and you can get their recent x-rays sent over, that saves retaking them.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Call as early as you can. Appointments for children run longer than adult ones, and Saturday slots in particular are in demand, so a bit of notice lets that time go to another family who needs it.
