Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Kevin Amaniampong was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) from the University of Calgary before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Alberta. He initially practiced general dentistry in Calgary and Airdrie for a few years, gaining valuable experience in the field.
Driven by a passion for pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kevin pursued extensive postgraduate training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of British Columbia and British Columbia Children’s Hospital , completing a Master of Science in Craniofacial Science Degree (MSc) and a Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry (Dip. Ped). During his time at B.C. Children’s Hospital, he served as the Chief Dental Fellow, where he honed his skills in managing both clinical and administrative responsibilities. His research focused on tele-dentistry, and he found that virtual dental consultations can be effective for planning pediatric dental treatment under general anesthesia, particularly for families living farther from the hospital.
Dr. Kevin is a Board-Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(C)), and an active member of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (CAPD) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
Dr. Kevin Amaniampong is currently educating, healing and brightening little smiles at Children’s Dental Health Centre (CDHC). In addition to his time at Children’s Dental Health Centre, Dr. Kevin is a staff pediatric dentist at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Pediatric Dental Clinic and a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Kevin Amaniampong and his team are known for their gentle approach and clear, caring guidance, which helps create a safe and comforting environment for children of all ages. While dental visits can sometimes be daunting for young patients, Dr. Amaniampong is dedicated to developing treatment plans that ensure effective and secure care, all while bringing joy, smiles, and laughter to the children, fostering a positive and lasting impression of dental care.
Dr. Amaniampong finds great fulfillment in pediatric dentistry, particularly in the ability to prevent or alleviate dental pain and break down social barriers for infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents, whether they are healthy or have special healthcare needs or medical complexities.

When Dr. Kevin steps away from his work at the Children’s Dental Health Centre and the Alberta Children’s Hospital, he dives into the world of fantasy through audiobooks and anime. He is also an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying volleyball, pickleball, and ping pong, which keep him active and energized. These hobbies bring balance to his life, offering both relaxation and excitement in his downtime. -
